Privacy Policy
Stop YouTube Shorts is designed to perform its single purpose without collecting personal or sensitive user data.
Information the extension handles
The extension stores one boolean preference named sidebar. This preference records whether the Shorts navigation entry should be hidden. It does not contain personal information.
The extension does not collect or store browsing history, URLs visited, video titles, page content, account identifiers, authentication information, personal communications, location, financial information, or analytics.
How the preference is used
The preference is used only to apply the sidebar setting selected by the user. Content scripts and styles run locally on www.youtube.com to hide supported Shorts interface elements. The extension does not send page content or activity to the developer.
Storage and synchronization
The preference is stored with chrome.storage.sync. If Chrome Sync is enabled, Google Chrome may synchronize it between browsers signed in to the same Google account. If sync is disabled, Chrome stores it locally. This processing is provided by Chrome and is subject to Google's privacy practices.
Sharing and third parties
The developer does not receive, sell, rent, disclose, or transfer extension user data to third parties. The extension contains no analytics, advertising, telemetry, remote code, or developer-operated backend.
Retention and deletion
Chrome retains the preference until the user changes it, removes it through Chrome, or uninstalls the extension. The developer cannot access or delete this preference because it is never transmitted to the developer.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide the extension's disclosed, user-facing purpose.
